ATTENDANCE & PARTICIPATION

All students participate in our End of Year Concert and students work on these routines each week in class, developing their skills in the process and learning the importance of rehearsal, commitment, performance techniques and teamwork.

In terms of attendance, it is very important that students do not miss any of their scheduled classes between now and concert time so they can spend their rehearsal time together to perform their routines, feel confident and look amazing. Of course, this is only if it can’t be helped and in line with studio guidelines. If for any reason your child will miss a number of their regular classes in Term 4, we ask that you send an email to let us know in advance.

If there is any reason why your child will not be able to perform at the concert on the dates and times provided, please let us know so we can make amendments to the class routines involving them.

- Professional concert video

- 2026 Commemorative T-shirt

- 2026 Performance Award (trophy or medal)

- First costume (purchased and yours to keep)

- Any additional costumes (hired)

The only additional purchase for families is concert tickets.

HOW MANY DANCES IS MY CHILD IN?

Please refer to the Dance Order and count the classes your child is performing with to determine which concert fee applies. For example, if your child attends Grade 1 Ballet & Lyrical, they will perform in two dances, and their total concert fee will be $270.00.

Performance Team Dances: Regular Performance Team routines using existing costumes do not count towards the number of dances for concert fees. However, the specially choreographed Theatre Jazz concert routine does count, as it requires an additional costume.

All concert fee totals include the $80 performer fee — this is not an additional charge it is already included in the above fee.

Concert fees will be processed via direct debit on 2nd November 2026 (Term 4, Week 4). All concert fees must be paid for dancers to participate in the performance.

REHEARSAL DAY

Saturday 7th – Sunday 8th November

Our Concert Rehearsal Weekend is an important opportunity for dancers to come together ahead of the performance and prepare their dances as part of the full concert.

Across the weekend, dancers will have additional rehearsal and coaching time for their concert routines, practise their ballet pieces together as part of

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, and come together to learn and rehearse our full-cast finale.

This additional time allows us to bring together dancers who train across different classes and days, refine choreography, spacing and performance quality, and ensure everyone feels confident and well prepared for the concert.

Please note that there will not be a separate stage rehearsal at the theatre this year. This rehearsal weekend will therefore be an important part of our concert preparations, and attendance is expected for all participating dancers.

Dancers should:

Arrive 10 minutes before their allocated rehearsal time and be collected promptly at the conclusion.

Wear their usual dancewear with hair neatly secured.

Bring all required dance shoes.

Bring a labelled water bottle and light snack if required.

No concert hair or makeup is required.

Students will also receive their Commemorative T-shirt during the rehearsal weekend.

Individual rehearsal times will be provided closer to the date.

CONCERT DAY PROCEDURES

DROP OFF & PICK UP

On concert day, all of the students will be staying backstage with us for the duration of the concert. Students need to have their hair done before being dropped off at the Stage Door (via Merton Street). Students are required to arrive 45mins before their show time.

During the dropping off times, we ask that one parent/guardian comes with their child into the drop off area. Students will need to know what allocated group they are in. See the CONCERT GROUPS & ORDER button below.

All students will need to be picked up from the drop off point after the show. Students will stay in this location and need to have their name marked off by their group leader.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask us. We will ensure that we talk you through the concert day procedure again in the weeks leading up to the concert.

SECURITY & STUDENT SAFETY

To help with student organisation and safety, all students will be put into an allocated 'group’. Please see the "show specific info" on this site and make sure your child knows what group they are in.

As always, the safety of our dance family is our #1 priority. On concert day all students will need to be signed in / out of security lists to gain access backstage. All backstage helpers will be issued with security passes that are required to be worn at all times. Only staff and registered parent helpers are permitted backstage. We are unable to run messages or food to students, so please make sure they have everything before they come backstage. There will be a someone at the door for the entire day checking passes. We do this to protect the students, please respect this policy. Please try not to bring anything valuable, especially electronic devices. Our studio will take no responsibility if an item is damaged, misplaced, lost or stolen.

MEDICAL CONDITIONS

If your child has any Medical Conditions that may require attention whilst in our care or are carrying any medication with them, please notify our supervisors when you sign in.

UNDERWEAR

Please be aware that under stage lights, dark coloured or patterned underwear does not look good under light coloured costumes. Please make sure your child is wearing flesh coloured underwear.

HAIR

Dancers will require a Middle Part, Slick Low Ballet Bun. If you need any assistance our staff will be able to do or adjust your dancers hair once they are backstage. You will need to use a lot of hairspray/gel and a fine tooth comb to achieve the slick look and possibly multiple elastics. Please also use an elastic the same colour as their hair. Ponytail is to be straight. A bun net will be required for buns.

Please note, for boys neat and tidy hair is all that is required.

MAKEUP

Stage make-up is essential for dancers as it enhances and defines facial features, ensuring expressions are visible to the audience from a distance, under stage lighting, and in videos and photographs.

Recommended Products

Foundation: Apply a base of foundation choosing a shade that matches the dancer's skin tone.

Blush: Apply pinkish brown tone blush to cheekbones.

Eyeshadow: Apply brown/neutral tones on eyelid – work from the inside corner along the lash line. You may also like to use shimmers in similar tones.

Eyebrow Pencil (for dancers with blonde eyebrows): For dancers with light or blonde eyebrows, use an eyebrow pencil in a neutral brown tone to ensure they are visible on stage.

Eyeliner: Black eyeliner on the top eyelid is recommended, your dancer is comfortable with it. Use along the top lash line.

Mascara: Black mascara to define the eyes.

Lipstick: Apply red lipstick

Optional (for seniors): Add bronzer for contouring and highlighter on the high points of the face and brow for extra definition. You may like to add white eyeshadow to the inner corners of the eye to make the eyes more defined and open onstage.

Please note, boys are not required to wear makeup.

JEWELLERY AND NAIL POLISH

No Jewellery is to be worn (including earrings), please leave all jewellery at home. Also, please remove all nail polish.

WHAT TO BRING

FOOD & DRINK

In line with venue rules there is to be NO food in dressing rooms. Please bring a labelled water bottle ONLY.

PACKING CHECKLIST

It is suggested that students bring all of their belongings in a small plastic box. It is much easier than rummaging through a bag. Please write their name on the box and on everything that they bring, every year we have so many pairs of dance shoes and uniforms lost that are never claimed. Please use the following checklist:

Stockings and dance underwear (wear on arrival)

Concert Costumes (wear your first costume on arrival)

Dance Shoes

Makeup for touch-ups

Extra bobby pins, safety pins, hair spray, elastics

Water, water and more water

Students may want to bring a small quiet game, book or something to keep them amused.

COSTUMES

Costumes are an exciting and important part of our End of Year Concerts. Click here to view all the information you need to know in regards to costumes.
